Mike Blue started his musical journey, like so many others, as a teenager in a small corner or a small room in an even smaller town in the North West of England. Armed with nothing but an old guitar his mother bought for him off eBay and a deep love for all things music; he began learning, writing and composing the day he started playing. He started his first band at 15 and began touring whilst still in high school, playing in major cities and small towns all over the U.K. He has played in several bands throughout the years but has always been a dedicated musician and songwriter in his own right. In 2015, Blue moved to Liverpool and began busking on the streets to support himself - as well as embarking on intense tours around the U.K. in order to play his music for anybody who would listen. Since then he has released two major bodies of works: ‘The Demo Tapes’ which was an acoustic album cut live in Liverpool’s ‘Parr Street Studios’ in 2018 and ‘Dark Daze’ which he recorded himself in his bedroom during lockdown in the Covid-19 pandemic at the end of 2020. Blue's sound has been described as a blend of folk, jazz and blues, often being compared to the likes of players such as: John Martyn, Nick Drake, Elliot Smith and Leonard Cohen. Blue has also released three singles of his latest up and coming album ‘The Unbearable Weight of All Things Considered’ to high praise. He has been featured on BBC Introducing as well as playing a BBC Live Lounge session and featured on Louder Than War Radio. He is currently embarking on a tour of the U.K to promote his latest E.P release ‘Of The Fragile Mind’ - a collection of singles he has released since 2022 to feature from his next album. This is his first tour to feature a full band ensemble, which also accompanied him on the latest album.
